Carsub subscription, you decide!

What is a car subscription?

Do you have Netflix, Spotify, or a mobile phone? Then you are already using subscription services. With a car subscription, you pay a recurring (monthly) fee to drive a car, instead of buying a car with your savings or through financing or leasing. So no long-term contracts, installments, residual amounts or fines in case of (early) termination. A subscription removes the hassle of owning a car, because everything is included (including insurance, maintenance, repairs and taxes). You're 100% flexible to start, change, or stop whenever you want. It also allows you to switch between different cars to suit your lifestyle.

Who can subscribe to Carsub?

Anyone who is at least 24 years old and has had their driver's license for at least 2 years with a place of residence in the Netherlands can subscribe to Carsub cars. Possession of a valid car license and Dutch ID from an EU country is required. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a Carsub subscription to people with a negative credit check (after BKR and credit reporting agency). In addition, our car partner performs an additional acceptance check. Carsub and its car partner reserve the right to refuse a customer request with and without an acceptance check at any time. In addition to the driver (subscriber), a (free) second driver can use the Carsub car. Both drivers must be at least 24 years old and have a valid driving license from an EU country for 2 years. People who are not registered with us are not allowed to drive your car.

Why does Carsub carry out a credit and identity check?

Due to insurance, your solvency and anticipation against possible misuse of our services, we carry out an accurate identity and credit check to minimize the risks of abuse. Based on your complete registration information, we can perform an identity and creditworthiness check. The credit check is performed only once during the first booking. We ask for your understanding.

What does a Carsub car subscription include?

With a Carsub subscription, you get a new or young used dealer maintained car including the necessary maintenance and repair, tires (summer tires or all-weather), insurance, registration, depreciation, VAT, road tax, roadside assistance and 1,250 free kilometers per month.

How much does a Carsub car subscription cost?

That's all up to you! Our website lists the monthly subscription costs per car. So you can choose the car and the monthly price that suits your lifestyle and budget.

However, we do charge a one-off registration fee of €179, -. These cover the costs of preparing your car, creating your customer profile, verifying your identity and financial details, among other things, and being able to continue providing our service. If you stop or pause your subscription and don't drive a car with our car subscription for at least 90 days, you'll need to register again and pay a registration fee again. After all, we need to check your creditworthiness again, among other things.

How does a car subscription relate to buying a car?

Buying a car costs money. The purchase value, depreciation, maintenance, insurance, etc. are things to take into account. We often hear that a car costs an average of €200 to €300 per month. And that includes insurance, tax and fuel costs. While the reality is much higher, because depreciation, in particular, is something that is often easy or not even thought about. For example, if you purchase a car worth around €20,000, you will pay just €300 per month of depreciation. In other words, money that you don't notice but have 'paid' and lost €10,800 after three years. And add €300 per month to your monthly costs of €250. Not to mention maintenance, repairs, (tire) wear and tear and international roadside assistance. If you add all of this together, a car subscription (which includes everything except fuel) is actually quite a good alternative, right?!

How does a car subscription relate to a car loan?

To get a car loan, you usually have to pay a substantial down payment, provide lots of documents and fill out forms, and then pay interest on the money you borrow. And then there is also a chance that you may not qualify for a loan, because credit restrictions are becoming increasingly strict. A loan usually has a fixed term, which you are held to or have to pay a huge penalty to terminate. With a Carsub subscription, there are no long-term contracts and therefore no residual debts. After the first month, your subscription can be canceled monthly. If things change in your life (dismissal, higher taxes, etc.), simply exchange your car for another (cheaper one) or stop your subscription.

How does a car subscription relate to a car lease?

With a car (private) lease, you are stuck to a predetermined period and a large payment can often be made at the end. If you cancel the lease before the end, you can be fined heavily for breaking the contract. A Carsub subscription is flexible, you can change cars whenever you want or cancel the subscription. An additional advantage: a subscription is not registered as a loan, such as leasing or financing. Useful for home buyers, for example!

What types of subscriptions are available?

We offer 3 types of car subscriptions:

  • flexible subscription (can be canceled monthly)
  • 6 months subscription
  • 12-month subscription


The flexible subscription applies to all cars offered on our website. We also offer some cars with a 6 and/or 12 car subscription. So you'll be driving for at least 6 or 12 months. With the flexible subscription, you can drive as long as you want and you can always change/cancel your car subscription with a 30-day notice period. With a 6 or 12 month subscription, you subscribe for the chosen period. Do you want to change or cancel 6 or 12 months earlier? That is possible, of course, but then we will calculate 30% of your remaining term.


So you always have the choice in advance which type of subscription best suits you or your lifestyle.

How do I change my car?

Heb je een flexibel abonnement, dan mag je zo vaak van auto abonnement ruilen als je wilt, maar wel met een minimum rijtijd van 1 maand met inachtneming van je startdatum. Wij rekenen geen wisselkosten voor het wisselen van je abonnement.
Heb je een 6 maanden of 12 maanden abonnement, dan kan je wisselen aan het einde van je looptijd.

Where does delivery take place?

The transfer takes place at our car supplier and we try to have it take place as close to you as possible. If you are unable to pick up the vehicle yourself, you can have your car delivered anywhere in the Netherlands to your desired location via our concierge service.

How many keys will I receive?

You get 1 key with your car. Just like rental companies, your reserve key remains with us.

My car has an App, can I install and use it?

Apps are now available for some cars. It differs per car brand whether and how you can install the User App. To install and activate the App, you often need a second key. Since the 2nd key remains with the car owner, we unfortunately cannot guarantee that the App can be installed.

How do I return my car?

If you decide to (temporarily) terminate your car subscription, cancel your car subscription at least 30 days before the end of your subscription period. After your cancellation, we will agree on the exact return date and location with you, where your car (in your presence) will be checked and checked. Make sure that all personal belongings are removed from the car (we accept no liability for loss of property left in the car), any insurance claims have been made, any damage has been reported to us, and make sure that the car, all accessories, keys and vehicle documents, as received upon delivery, have been returned to us, and make sure the car has a full tank and is fully cleaned.

What does concierge service (delivery/pick up) cost?

Delivery to your desired location (home, work or elsewhere) costs you €150, - incl. VAT, throughout the Netherlands (always excluding fuel costs and miles driven).

Are you going to have your car brought? Then start your starting mileage (and the full fuel tank) when you leave the car partner. The concierge service will drive this trip on your behalf. So the miles (and fuel) you bring are always yours! Had you made it to the car yourself, you would have driven these kilometers yourself.

This also applies to returning your car. You must return your car to the car company clean inside and out and fully fueled (or at least 50% loaded). If you choose our concierge service, your final bill will show the mileage and fuel for the trip to the car company. Had you returned your car yourself, you would also have driven and paid for these kilometers and fuel yourself.

How many free miles are included?

By default, 1,250 free kilometers per month are included in your subscription. You can calculate your mileage. If you drive less one month, you will take the undriven kilometers with you to the next month. Do you drive one more month? Then you can pick it up again the following month (s).

The start and end points of your mileage start from the moment you pick up your car from the respective car partner and stop at the relevant car company when you pick up your car, regardless of whether you choose our concierge service.

Do you want more free miles in advance in your subscription? That's possible. We charge €37.50 for +250 km. To arrange this, please contact our customer service 085-77 33 753.

Did you drive more miles at the end of your subscription? Then we charge an additional cost of €0.20 (incl. VAT) per additional kilometer driven. You are responsible for recording your kilometers. You can do this registration in your personal environment at carsub.nl (my account - mileage registration). Here you enter the current mileage each month.

Is it possible to travel abroad?

Yes, you can travel abroad in the following countries: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, United Kingdom, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Greece, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, and Andorra. Travel to all countries not listed here is expressly prohibited and, in individual cases, only permitted with Carsub's prior, express and written consent.

Can I take my pet in the car?

Yes, you can in principle transport your pet in your Carsub car. However, you must ensure that your pet does not leave scratches, dirt or hair. You pay for the special cleaning and removal of traces and odors yourself.

Can I smoke in the car?

No, smoking is not allowed in the Carsub cars.

Can and may I make changes to the car myself?

No, making any changes or adjustments to your Carsub car is not allowed. For example, if you want to attach a bike rack or roof box, please discuss this with our customer service in advance.

Payment

How do I pay for my Carsub subscription?

Your first payment consists of a one-off registration fee, a 1st month subscription fee and a deposit. You only pay this after we have checked your details and everything has been approved. You will then receive a payment link from us and, after payment, we will deliver the car to you within 24 hours. Your car subscription starts on the day you receive your car and you subscribe for 30 days.

When do you collect my monthly amount?

On every 25th day of your subscription, you will receive a payment link with your monthly amount.

Hiermee bedoelen we niet elke 25ste van een kalendermaand, maar elke 25ste dag vanaf de startdatum van je abonnement. Start je je abonnement op bijv. de 10e van de maand, dan ontvang je 25 dagen later (rond de 5e van de nieuwe maand) je betaalverzoek voor de nieuwe maand.

Tip: Wil je zeker weten dat je elke maand je abonnementsfactuur tijdig kan voldoen? Start dan je abonnement op een datum rondom ontvangst van je inkomen/ salaris.

How do we deal with fines?

Well, it may happen that you receive a ticket sometime. And this one will be at your expense. We will forward the ticket to you so that you can pay it. Due to extra work, we charge €25, -. So you pay your fine and €25, - administration costs. You can find our full rate card at the bottom of our terms and conditions on our website.

Damage & theft

What if I have damage or an accident?

In the event of damage or accident, report this immediately to the car company you drive your car from. Of course, it can also be passed on to us. You do this by sending a fully completed damage form and photos of your car. As soon as third parties are involved in the damage, you are obliged to call the police and have the damage registered. And by third parties, we mean people as well as objects and cars. If your Carsub car needs to be towed due to damage, call the damage number on the front of your service book. Then your car will be towed to the nearest workshop. All emergency numbers can be found on the front of your maintenance book in your glove box. You are insured for the costs, with a standard deductible of €1,500 per claim. You can lower it during the ordering process. Does the damage caused by and be recoverable from the other party? Will I get a replacement car during workshop visits?

No, we do not offer a replacement car for workshop visits. Our cars are in such a condition that a maintenance visit will consist of minimal work. To be honest, we should include a replacement in your monthly rate and we think that's too much to make you pay for. You may need to have a service done once a year (if you've been driving the same car for so long) and then you'll pay for replacement vehicles every month, while you're likely to use it infrequently.

What if my car gets stolen?

If your car is stolen, it is of course extremely annoying. And that must then be resolved as soon as possible. If your car is stolen, the deductible protocol applies. For example, if you forget to lock the car and your car is stolen, you are fully responsible. Even in the event of unacceptable management or (gross) negligence, we must recover the costs from you, as a director, and will be treated just like unreported damage or damage resulting from the careless management of the object. We do not cover or reimburse loose items/property in your car in the event of theft or other damage. Perhaps reassuring, all our vehicles have a GPS system. This is due to safeguarding and security against possible abuse or theft.
